ADIDAS’ RETRO SNEAKERS (we’re looking at you, Samba) are all the range these days. But we argue that the German giant’s runners and trainers are just as impressive. Take the Ultraboost, a light-yet-cushioned sneaker that’s comfy, sleek, and still holds up since first launching in 2015.
The newest iteration of the long-heralded sneaker, the Ultraboost 5X, was just released in July. And right now, during the 50 percent off Adidas classics sale, the 5X is 25 percent off the 5X until October 18.
For years, our fitness team has considered many versions of the Ultraboost to be great cushioned trainers and runners with ample arch support. Plus, each new model tends to get lighter and leaner than the original Ultraboost 1.0, while still being just as durable. We found the Ultraboost Light for instance, “to be the lightest, springiest model thus far, yielding high energy return and great all-terrain traction” in our review of the best cushioned running sneakers.
The 5X, from all initial reviews appears to be another great version in the Ultraboost family. The secret to the Ultraboost comfort has always been the Boost foam that’s continually delivering energy return for a consistent comfort.
If the Ultraboost isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other great Adidas sneakers on heavy discount right now. The ever-popular Stan Smiths are just $45 in some sizes, and the London 96 Shoes are on a rare 40 percent discount. If you’re in need for a new pair of kicks, don’t let this short, yet impactful, sale run away.
