The lifestyle hotel group Miiro, specializing in European establishments, has announced the opening of The Mansard in Gstaad, Switzerland. Future locations are planned for London and Vienna in 2025, with additional projects slated for 2026 and beyond.

This marks the group’s third project in under six months, following the openings of the Grand Hôtel Cayré in Paris and Borneta in Barcelona.

Located on Gstaad’s promenade, The Mansard offers 29 rooms and suites featuring contemporary Alpine design, natural materials, and historic photography by Jacques Naegeli. Most rooms come with private balconies and include amenities such as Le Labo toiletries, tea and coffee stations, and other thoughtful touches.

The hotel’s restaurant highlights local ingredients from the Bernese Oberland, blending Swiss culinary traditions with international influences. Adjacent to the restaurant, the cozy wood-paneled bar features a fireplace and serves drinks, cocktails, and desserts. Additionally, The Mansard is home to Gstaad’s only rooftop bar, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and countryside.

Wellness facilities include a sauna, a hydrotherapy wading pool, and a treatment room where skilled therapists provide massages and reflexology. Guests also benefit from a Refresh Room, offering changing areas, showers, and toiletries for use before check-in or after check-out.

With the opening of The Mansard, Miiro continues its European expansion, aiming to deliver hotels that blend seamlessly into their surroundings while catering to the expectations of modern travelers. The group plans to expand its portfolio with new addresses in the coming years, further solidifying its position in the lifestyle hotel market.

Tracing the group’s origins

In a July interview, Neena Gupta, CEO of Miiro Hotels, shared the company’s vision. Miiro is part of Interglobe Enterprises, an Indian conglomerate founded in 1989 and a leader in travel, aviation, and transportation.

“We will continue to push forward because we believe in our vision and the future. We see the travel market becoming increasingly sophisticated and want to leverage our assets, history, and investment power to deliver something truly competitive.”

Having established a strong reputation in India—particularly through collaborations with Accor (ibis, Novotel, Pullman)—the company began diversifying in 2017 with strategic investments in European hospitality. Miiro Hotels embodies this vision, creating distinctive establishments designed for travelers seeking unique local experiences.

Miiro’s European journey began with the acquisition and renovation of the Sheraton at Schiphol Airport, followed by the repositioning of luxury assets from the MK portfolio in key European cities. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the group stayed true to its vision, opening hotels in Barcelona, Bonn, and London (Earls Court and Kensington), with five more openings planned by 2025.

By rejecting traditional corporate models, Miiro aims to transform its hotels into places of strong identity, reflecting the authenticity of their neighborhoods. The group is positioning itself as a leading independent brand in Europe, with plans to expand into Asia in the future.
