The highlight of the Nova 14 Pro is its camera system, which delivers unusually strong performance for this price range. The Huawei phone features two front-facing selfie cameras, which also allow for wider-angle group selfies.
Things get really exciting on the back as well, with the 50-megapixel main camera and a variable aperture. As noted in our review, photos taken with the Nova 14 Pro appear very sharp and rich in detail, though the color rendering is slightly warmer than that of most competitors. Even in low light, the Huawei phone performs at a top-tier level.
Although it doesn’t have a periscope zoom, the telephoto camera with lossless 3x magnification still takes beautiful, sharp photos. However, beyond 5x zoom, you shouldn’t expect results at a flagship level.
A top alternative from 2025 is still the Xiaomi 15T, which saw a significant price drop shortly after its launch, making this upper-mid-range smartphone a very attractive value and offering great camera performance for the price (starts at around $535 on amazon.us).
