Renowned British-Nigerian artist and designer, Yinka Ilori, in partnership with McLaren Automotive and Art of Wishes, has transformed a McLaren Artura supercar into a one-of-a-kind masterpiece in support of Make-A-Wish.
The unique hand-painted artwork was created by Ilori during a two-day live-painting installation held in the courtyard of The Peninsula London between 14th and 15th October 2024, as part of Frieze London 2024.
“I’ve always believed in the power of dreaming. It is a core theme in my work and one that I hope inspires people to always follow their hearts,” said Yinka Ilori.
“I am therefore so proud to continue supporting Art of Wishes and Make-A-Wish in the incredible work they are doing to help make children’s dreams a reality. I’m also grateful to McLaren for providing the canvas to make this special project happen.”
The McLaren will be on display at The Peninsula London for two weeks, before embarking on a three-month journey through the UK, where it will be shown at McLaren showrooms from Glasgow to the New Forest.
At the end of UK tour, the Artura’s hand-painted bonnet will be auctioned by Art of Wishes to raise funds for Make-A-Wish. All proceeds from this auction will allow Make-A-Wish to grant wishes to children with life threatening medical conditions.
