Prepurr to repel boarders

- Cat Quest III is finally sailing its way onto iOS
- The isometric hack ‘n slash RPG is set to arrive August 8th
- Make your way through land and sea to explore, gather treasure and send your enemies to the locker
Quite often, we get tentative news of mobile releases, only to then face months of radio silence. Fortunately, just as often, that silence is broken in surprising fashion. As is the case with Cat Quest III! A favourite series here at Pocket Gamer, the new nautically-themed entry in the series is now confirmed to be arriving on iOS for a tentative release date of August 8th.
The easiest way to describe Cat Quest III is as a fast-paced, isometric piratical adventure that sees you playing as one of the titular felines. You’ll explore a pirate-inspired world by both land and sea, either slashing your way through enemies on various islands or blasting your foes apart on the open ocean.
Cat Quest III focuses on seamless fun, making the overworld and battles part and parcel. So that means no matter where you’re adventuring, you’ll have the same degree of control and (broadly) the same abilities.
Purrfect
What’s perhaps most intriguing, at least in my opinion, about Cat Quest III is the visuals. These lush graphics could be compared to something like the Paper Mario series, and despite the isometric perspective, they offer a huge amount of detail to enjoy, with some quite impressive visual effects not dissimilar to something like Octopath Traveller.
Cat Quest III on iOS supports advanced touchscreen controls, Game Centre and one-time purchase, meaning you can play it across all your compatible Apple devices after buying it once. You’ll even be able to jump into co-op by using two controllers on your chosen device!
