You may recall back in December 2022 when “KICK BACK,” Kenshi Yonezu’s Chainsaw Man opening song, surpassed 180 million global streams. That number has risen further since, naturally, and the music video for the song also hit a major milestone this week.

According to the latest numbers and shared via Yonezu’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, the “KICK BACK” music video has hit 200 million views on YouTube.

With this new milestone, Yonezu has set a new record for Japanese artists with 11 songs having passed the 200 million view mark.

The digital single of “KICK BACK” debuted on October 12, 2022, followed by a CD single release that November. Yoshiyuki Okuyama directed the music video, which you can watch (again and again) below.

Chainsaw Man started out as a manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, which is available in English through VIZ Media. It got its start in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018 before being adapted into the hit anime by studio MAPPA.
