On Sunday, February 1, the Grammys 2026 celebrated achievements in music by honoring musicians, producers, songwriters, and more. Broadcast live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Trevor Noah hosted the annual awards show, which at times felt more like a concert than a ceremony, as the biggest names in music came together to perform their hits, riff on classics, and pay tribute to artists who paved the way for them. This year, Addison Rae, Alex Warren, Bruno Mars, Clipse, Justin Bieber, Katseye, Lady Gaga, Leon Thomas, Lola Young, Olivia Dean, Pharrell Williams, Sabrina Carpenter, Sombr, and The Marías were among the many acts that took the stage to perform.

Bad Bunny (who was just a week away from his Super Bowl halftime show performance) won album of the year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos. He was nominated for the award alongside Justin Bieber’s Swag, Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend, Clipse’s (Pusha T and Malice) Let God Sort Em Out, Lady Gaga’s Mayhem, Kendrick Lamar’s GNX, Leon Thomas’s Mutt, and Tyler, the Creator’s Chromakopia.

Our Essential Guides

Bad Bunny made history tonight as the first album of the year win in Grammys history for a Spanish-language album. His emotional speech was another highlight reel-worthy moment, after his passionate declamation of ICE and appeal for humanity earlier in the night.

With three wins tonight, his career Grammy count is now up to six total. Next weekend, he’s on yet another big stage: The Super Bowl halftime show. The smart money says that after tonight, even more people will be tuning in to see Benito perform next Sunday.

YES BENITO!

I’m so happy for Bad Bunny. I’ve been investing in this win since middle school. One of my favorite artists so I will be watching the Super Bowl for him, much like Trevor Noah.

Given their reaction to Bad Bunny headlining the Super Bowl, Turning Point USA fans and their compatriots are probably not too happy that he just won album of the year at the Grammys. The conservative non-profit threatened to boycott Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl half time show performance, going so far as to announce a counter-programming concert: Turning Point USA’s “All American Halftime Show” that is supposed to air during Bad Bunny’s set.

But, with one week to go until the big game, it’s unclear if Turning Point USA’s “All American Halftime Show” is still happening. Last week, I checked in on the event, which still hasn’t announced any performers or a venue. Good luck booking that stage you speak of.

For those in need of a translation…

Here’s the English translation of what Bad Bunny said while accepting his history-making Album of the Year award:

Believe me when I say that we are much bigger than 100 by 35 [“100×35” represents the approximate dimensions of Puerto Rico in miles, 100 miles long by 35 miles wide], and there is nothing that we can’t accomplish. Thank you God, thank you to the academy, thank you to everyone that believed in me throughout my career. [Thank you] to everyone who worked on this album, and thank you mom for giving birth to me in Puerto Rico. I love you.

I want to dedicate this award to all the people that had to leave their home, land, or country to follow their dreams. To everyone who has lost a loved one and still had to keep going and carry on with strength, this is for you. Thank you for so much love, I love you. To all Latinos all over the world, to all the artists that came before me and deserved to be on this stage receiving this award, thank you.

This is my ninth Grammys on staff at Vanity Fair, and I’m pretty sure it was the best one in that period. Pacing was great, a good balance of old and new, a few surprises, lots of heart. Heckuva job, Recording Academy.

So moving and I’m so excited for the Super Bowl now…

Well now I’m crying too. Vamos Benito!!!!!!!!

Is anyone else tearing up along with Bad Bunny?

I am! It’s always amazing when the symbolism comes along with great tunes!

Don’t worry, darling: Harry Styles is here to present album of the year.

When will Pharrell‘s fur coat be hitting the RealReal? Mama needs one.

From the NO ICE buttons to SZA’s encouragement to the audience not to lose heart in the face of bad news, it’s clear that the music industry isn’t feeling afraid to show off its political commitments this year.

To me, that sounds like the return of woke! For the last few months, I saw celebrities move past their Trump 2 sheepishness and embrace something that online jokesters were calling Woke 2.

Here’s my report on how social justice came back:

It’s snowing onstage for Pharrell and Clipse in L.A., on what was truly an 80 degree day.

Trevor Noah says “I love live television” and gets a big laugh, seemingly in response to Cher’s “Luther Vandross” gaffe.

Did anyone else catch Cher apologizing? It looked like she was saying “I’m really sorry” for the Luther Vandross mixup.

Cher might be giving Faye Dunaway a call to commiserate later tonight.
