After some successful crowdfunding that began last November, three Haruhi Suzumiya music videos have been released.
The first music video is titled “Invincible(ish) Happiness!” and dropped on July 28. It was composed by Satoru Kosaki, who did the background music for the anime adaptation of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, as well as its song “God knows…”

The third music video, which is also the concluding one, is titled “Colorful Starting Line,” and it dropped on August 11. Kosaki was not involved, and this time around it was composed by Tsubasa Ito, whose credits include The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War, Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions, and Skeleton Knight in Another World.

Originally the crowdfunding goal was to make $65,000, but between November and January it managed to rake in an impressive $595, 000.
The most recent novel in the series, The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya (a.k.a. Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekijō in Japanese) came out on November 29. It had been four years since the previous novel was published.
Yen Press publishes the original Haruhi Suzumiya light novels, and gave this description for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya:
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Plot
Meet Haruhi – a cute, determined girl, starting high school in a city where nothing exciting happens and absolutely no one understands her. Meet Kyon — the sarcastic guy who sits behind Haruhi in homeroom and the only boy Haruhi has ever opened up to. His fate is now tied to hers. Meet the S.O.S. Brigade – an after-school club organized by Haruhi with a mission to seek out the extraordinary. Oh, and their second mission? Keeping Haruhi happy . . . because even though she doesn’t know it, Haruhi has the power to destroy the universe. Seriously.
