Homecooked Comfort Meals are Making a Comeback

As cooler temperatures set in and families settle into fall routines, many Americans are opting to stay in and cook more at home. In fact, 1 in 3 adults plan to dine out less in the next six months. With at-home cooking on the rise, Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner., funded by the Beef Checkoff, teamed up with Pitmaster Erica Roby to share her favorite comfort recipes with a twist.

“As people cook at home more, they want to experiment with flavors and ingredients to keep dishes exciting,” said Roby. “I love using different beef cuts, which are versatile and affordable. You can always find a way to work them into your meals.”

One of Roby’s go-to recipes is Bulgogi Blaze Bowls. Though traditionally made with Ribeye or Sirloin, Roby says any tender, thinly sliced steak works. Marinated in ginger, sesame oil, and soy sauce, the beef is paired with kimchi and gochujang, making it a customizable and quick weeknight option.

Another favorite is her Blissfully Beefy Börek, inspired by flavors from Turkey and North Africa. This dish wraps a spicy ground beef mixture in phyllo dough for a crunchy, flavorful meat pie that’s sure to become a family staple.
