Warner Chappell Music (WCM) Nashville has officially renewed its global publishing deal with Kacey Musgraves. The continuation of this partnership marks another milestone in Musgraves’ prolific career, reinforcing the publishers’ commitment to her catalog and creative future.

Musgraves was recently recognized with the Songwriter Icon Award at the National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA) annual meeting in New York. Her latest studio album, Deeper Well (2024), debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart. This marks Musgraves’ fifth consecutive album to achieve #1 on the chart, underlining her consistent commercial and critical appeal. Deeper Well features the hit single, “The Architect” which secured the Best Country Song honor at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

Musgraves expressed her gratitude for the renewal, saying: “Warner Chappell has been a wonderful longstanding home for my songs and I’m so grateful for the continuation into the future I’m so excited about.”

Phil May, General Manager of WCM Nashville, echoed the sentiment: “Kacey has been a valuable part of our Warner Chappell family here in Nashville for a long time, and we’re proud to continue championing her artistry and songs. She joined WCM shortly after I did, and I was fortunate enough to be part of her first deal with us. It’s been an honor to watch her career growth over the years and we’re very excited to see what the future holds for her as she continues to raise the bar as both a songwriter and artist.”

”Kacey is an exceptionally gifted songwriter who has been a powerful voice in country music from the start and we’re looking forward to helping shape this next chapter,” adds Guy Moot and Carianne Marshall, Co-Chair and CEO & COO respectively.

A native of Golden, Texas, Musgraves started writing songs at eight and quickly developed her musical abilities. She self-released three albums before making her major-label debut with Same Trailer Different Park (2013), which won Best Country Album at the Grammy Awards.

She continued her ascent with Pageant Material (2015), A Very Kacey Christmas (2016), and the universally celebrated Golden Hour (2018)—the latter making her the third artist to win Album of the Year at the Grammys, CMAs, and ACM Awards. Musgraves is now the only artist in GRAMMY history to win every country category: Best Country Album, Best Country Song, and Best Country Solo Performance.
