A lifelong scholar and advocate for integrative wellness, Ms. Bannister earned her bachelor’s degree from the Robert D. Clark Honors College at the University of Oregon in 2005, where she also published her senior thesis as part of the college’s distinguished research program. She later completed her master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, followed by postgraduate study in China.
