New Casio G-Shock comic book inspired watches launching soon

Two new Casio G-Shock x Joshua Vides watches have been revealed. The artist has been teasing these two previously rumored models, the DW-5600J-7 and DW-6900J-1, on social media for the last few days.

Now, the designs of these comic book inspired Casio G-Shock watches have been revealed by several sources, including Geesgshock on Instagram (images below). The G-Shock DW-5600JV-7 is a rectangular digital watch, with a white resin casing and strap featuring black details which appear to have been drawn by pen. The G-Shock DW-6900JV-1 is a round digital watch with a black resin case and strap, and white pen stroke accents.

Both the G-Shock DW-5600JV and DW-6900JV watches have typical light background digital displays with dark figures. These can be illuminated with an LED backlight, which reveals an image of a traffic cone. The G-Shock models also offer features like a 1/100th second stopwatch, hourly time signals, a multifunction alarm and a countdown timer. On top of this, they are water resistant to 200 m and have a fully automatic calendar to the year 2099.

The Casio G-Shock DW-5600JV and DW-6900JV watches will be released in the US on March 14th. The pricing for this market has yet to be confirmed. Plus, whether or when these products could be released in European countries like Germany remains to be seen.
