Halloween is rapidly approaching, which means my house has entered its annual stretch of costume deliberations and increasingly strategic negotiations about future candy consumption. My daughter has settled on Eeyore, while my son is still deciding, but appears headed toward a Star Wars character for the third year in a row. At least my husband and I know our roles: We walk several yards behind them carrying discarded costume pieces, reminding them to say thank you approximately 75 times, and, in return, claim the time-honored parent tax on their candy.
Mine is usually a few fun-sized Twix. My husband inexplicably gets excited about Jujyfruits, which makes dividing the spoils remarkably easy. This year, though, there are quite a few new contenders worth watching for in the candy haul. From freeze-dried Skittles to glowing Sour Patch Kids, here are the best new Halloween candies hitting shelves this year.

Skittles POP’d Creepy Crunch
Freeze-dried candy has been everywhere for the past few years, and Skittles has finally made the leap. For Halloween 2026, the brand has introduced POP’d Creepy Crunch, a freeze-dried version of the famously chewy candy that swaps the chew for an airy crunch.
The Halloween mix has its own set of flavors: Ghostly Lime, Cursed Apple, Blood Orange, Beastly Blackberry and Red Raspberry. This isn’t just regular Skittles dressed up for Halloween; both the flavors and the texture are different, which makes Creepy Crunch one of the biggest changes this year.

Twix Skulls
My preferred Halloween tax payment has a new shape this year. Twix Skulls have the same crisp cookie, caramel and milk chocolate as a regular Twix, only molded into skulls for Halloween.
Mars introduced the new candy in both individual and share-size packages for 2026. I’m perfectly happy with that level of innovation. Twix didn’t need a pumpkin-spice filling or green caramel. It just needed to look a little more sinister for October.

Oreo Dark Chocolate Cookies & Creme Ghosts
These may have Oreo in the name, but they’re not cookies. New Oreo Dark Chocolate Cookies & Creme Ghosts are actual pieces of candy made of a dark chocolate shell filled with Oreo creme and Oreo cookie pieces.
They’re made by Frankford Candy and individually wrapped, which gives Oreo something it doesn’t usually have: a candy that actually makes sense in the trick-or-treat bowl.

Brach’s Mellowcreme Spooky Graveyard
Brach’s has gone further than changing the colors of its famous candy corn this year. New Mellowcreme Spooky Graveyard candy comes in four appropriately macabre shapes—ghosts, bats, tombstones and skulls—and four flavors.
The assortment includes Caramel Corn, Cotton Candy, Marshmallow and Green Apple. They still have the soft, dense texture of Brach’s familiar mellowcreme candies, but the flavors make this a much bigger departure from the usual pumpkins and candy corn.

Sour Patch Kids Glow Ups Ghosts
Sour Patch Kids has figured out a genuinely new Halloween trick: candy that glows under a blacklight. New Glow Ups Ghosts are peach and orange-flavored gummies shaped like ghosts and covered with tiny pieces of edible confetti that glow under a UV light.
The effect comes from turmeric extract in the confetti, so there’s nothing unusual required to make the candy itself glow—just a blacklight. The ghosts still have the familiar sour-then-sweet coating and shape.

Sour Patch Kids Monster Parts
Also new from Sour Patch Kids this year are Monster Parts, which look roughly like the aftermath of a very small gummy horror movie. The bag is filled with assorted monster-inspired body parts in three flavors: Black Raspberry, Orange and Watermelon.
The shapes are the main Halloween hook here, but Black Raspberry is also a departure from the usual Sour Patch Kids lineup. Monster Parts are part of the brand’s new Halloween offerings for 2026 and are available for a limited time.

Haribo Crazy Skeletons
Haribo’s newest Halloween candy looks a tad more alarming than a regular gummy bear. Crazy Skeletons are full-body skeleton gummies, with each candy divided into two flavors and two textures. One is sweet, and one is sour.
There are three combinations in the bag: Strawberry and Blackcurrant, Cherry and Kiwi and Pineapple and Blood Orange. Crazy Skeletons have existed overseas, but they’re making their U.S. debut for Halloween 2026, so American trick-or-treaters are getting them for the first time this year.

Häppy Candy Haunted Edition
Häppy Candy made its Halloween debut this year with Haunted Edition gummies in two spooky flavor combinations: Witch’s Brew (Watermelon and Peach) and Zombie Zest (Blue Raspberry and Lime).
The gummies are made with real sugar and come in a variety pack of 16 individually wrapped bags, with the brand’s usual heart-shaped gummies swapped for Halloween shapes. The Haunted Edition is exclusive to Target this Halloween.

Chocolove Apple Cider Pumpkin Bites
Pumpkin spice gets plenty of attention this time of year, but Chocolove went in a different direction with its newest fall chocolate. Apple Cider Pumpkin Bites pair pumpkin-shaped milk chocolate with a creamy apple cider filling made with real apple puree and a hint of cinnamon.
The new flavor joins Chocolove’s returning Pumpkin Spice and Peanut Butter Pumpkin Bites. All three are individually wrapped, but Apple Cider is the newcomer for 2026—and a much more interesting addition to the pumpkin-shaped-chocolate category than simply finding another place to put pumpkin spice.

Snickers Fun Size Pumpkins
Snickers Pumpkins aren’t new, but this trick-or-treat-friendly Fun Size version is. Mars shrank its pumpkin-shaped bars for Halloween this year, so each one still has the familiar combination of peanuts, caramel, nougat and milk chocolate, only in a size that makes a bit more sense for the candy bowl!

Jolly Ranchers Gummies Trickies Minis
The trick in Jolly Rancher Trickies is right there in the candy: What you see isn’t necessarily what you’re about to taste. The gummies come in Green Apple, Blue Raspberry, Cherry, Grape and Watermelon, but the colors and Halloween shapes don’t correspond to the flavors.
Trickies themselves aren’t new, but for Halloween 2026, Hershey put the Minis into individual packs made for handing out to trick-or-treaters. It’s a practical change rather than a new candy, but it also makes more sense for Halloween than asking someone to reach into a communal bowl of gummies.

HI-CHEW Halloween Mystery Mix
HI-CHEW Halloween Mystery Mix is returning for a second year, but the candy inside has changed for 2026. This year’s mix includes Green Apple, Orange Creamsicle and Cotton Candy, along with an all-white mystery flavor that HI-CHEW is keeping secret.
The entire flavor lineup is different from last year’s, and the mystery flavor itself is brand-new. The limited-edition mix comes in two bag sizes and is available only for the Halloween season.

Kinder Joy Stranger Things Eggs
Kinder Joy’s new Stranger Things collection wasn’t released specifically for Halloween, but candy paired with a possible Demogorgon feels particularly well-suited for the job.
The limited-edition eggs contain Kinder Joy’s creamy chocolate with crispy cocoa-filled wafer bites on one side and one of 24 Stranger Things-inspired Funko surprises on the other. The toys include characters like Eleven, Max and Dustin, along with Vecna and Demogorgons—and some have Upside Down counterparts. If there were ever a June candy release with a convincing argument for inclusion in a Halloween roundup, this is definitely it.
