Colorado-based singer-songwriter Sarah Banker recently unveiled her single/music video, “FRIENDS,” a song about finding someone with whom to spend the rest of your life.
Talking about her music, Banker shares, “You are the ONE, the one who has the potential to make the changes that lead to a fulfilling life experience. You have everything you need within you to take charge of your life.”
“FRIENDS” is lifted from Banker’s upcoming EP, Into the Heart, a collection of songs revolving around the theme of resilience. Recorded and produced by Jeff Franca in his studio which sits at an elevation of 9,000 feet, Into the Heart is at once intimate and authentic.
Banker grew up performing in theatrical productions, and later, after learning guitar, began writing songs. With her first guitar performance, she became addicted to music and performing live. Shortly after that, she sold most of what she owned and took to the road with her guitar and backpack.
Her curiosity and exploratory journey carried her to places like the jungles of Hawaii, the forests of the Pacific Northwest, the deserts of southern Utah, and the top of the Rocky Mountains. In each setting, the milieu shaped the evolution of her sound, while her music touched hearts.
Banker is also a successful TedX speaker – where she merges her captivating sound and songwriting with her inspirational message of self-compassion and acceptance as the key to unlocking unique, inner gifts.
“FRIENDS” opens on laid-back surfaces riding a gently swaying rhythm. Banker’s silky, evocative vocals imbue the lyrics with warmth, vulnerability, and an irresistible invitation to participate in unbridled private feelings with another person. There’s a charming simplicity to the song that makes it all the more enchanting.
