What is the Cozy Earth cuddle blanket?
The Cozy Earth Cuddle Blanket is well-loved across the Taste of Home testing team, as evidenced by its “best splurge” status in our list of the best blankets. The oversized throw is notably heavier than other Cozy Earth blankets we’ve tried. Plus, it’s incredibly stylish, especially when draped over an inviting armchair or modular sectional.
It comes in two sizes: a larger 80-by-60 inch size, and a standard 60-by-50 inch throw size. Both blanket sizes offer a long, silky faux fur texture reminiscent of a lush, uber-soft faux fur coat. This luxurious exterior is plush, substantial and wraps around you like a big warm hug. The Cuddle Blanket is available in multiple colors, including walnut, dove grey, creme and espresso.
Why We Love It
In our review of the Cuddle Blanket, we praise it for its silky-soft faux fur, which is just as plush and luxurious as it looks. Deputy Editor Katie Bandurski has owned hers since June 2025. While it didn’t get a lot of use in the summertime, she couldn’t be more thrilled to wrap herself in this cozy cuddle cave during chilly Wisconsin winters.
“Right out of the bag, I was genuinely shocked by how soft the fabric was. I joked to my husband that it felt like chinchilla fur—or being enrobed in a giant Jellycat. It’s truly one of the softest things I’ve ever touched,” says Katie. “For three months, I found myself reaching for the Cuddle Blanket at every chance. It’s the ultimate companion for reading, watching TV or even working from home. I frequently found myself mindlessly petting the fabric while hanging out on the couch.”

That said, it is an investment. “The Cuddle Blanket is absolutely a splurge, but it does, in fact, live up to the hype,” says Katie. “I have yet to encounter another comparable blanket on the market that is as uber-soft, cozy and high-quality.”
In her time snuggling up in the oversized blanket, Katie found that spot cleaning works best for spills and small stains. While the blanket is technically washing machine safe if you hang it to dry after, the sheer size and weight make it a little complicated to launder. That said, Editor Madi Koetting previously tested the smaller throw and washed it in her machine without issue. This might be the way to go if you know you’ll need to frequently deep clean it.
