The automotive landscape is changing rapidly, and the 2026 New York auto show was notable not just for the number of new-vehicle debuts, but for the sheer variety. Here are all the cars and concepts unveiled in the Big Apple that you need to know about.

Hyundai Boulder Concept

The most buzz-worthy reveal at the 2026 New York Auto Show was Hyundai’s surprise unveiling of the Boulder concept, a body-on-frame Bronco/Wrangler fighter shod with 37-inch off-road tires. It’s a signal of Hyundai’s future off-road truck and SUV direction and a preview of a pickup truck due to arrive before 2030. [First Look Full Story]

Kia PV5 Taxicab Concept

Kia’s all-electric PV5 Passenger van is already on sale in South Korea and Europe, plus we know it’s bound for Canada—and this concept indicates it could come to the Big Apple. Kia had a wheelchair-accessible PV5, done up as a New York taxi (without the overspray and bondo), to show to the local taxi commission and livery companies.

2027 Nissan NISMO Z

2027 Volkswagen Atlas

Volkswagen’s big three-row SUV has an all-new look, with a smooth, LED-illuminated front fascia that almost makes it look like an EV. Inside, the interior has been modernized with all-new software running on more powerful computing architecture. 2027 Subaru Forester Wilderness Hybrid

Tread lightly! Subaru has finally brought hybrid power to one of its Wilderness off-road-ready SUVs. The Forester Wilderness Hybrid uses the same 190-hp hybrid powertrain as other hybrid Foresters, which should improve fuel economy by about 25 percent and extend the cruising range well over 500 miles.
